Online Surveys That Pay

 A little over 2 years ago, I started taking online surveys that pay people like you and me for our input and insight.  That's the short story.  Now, would you like to hear the long story...?

I've been using the internet full-time since 1998.  A friend of mine bought himself a computer and started teaching himself to build websites.  When he wasn't using his computer, I would slip in and scour the internet for interesting ways to pass time, i.e. fantasy sports, email, etc.  One of the things I started researching was work-at-home opportuntities.  The idea of making money on my home computer intrigued me and I figured I'd set up a couple of different streams of income and let the money start rolling in.  It didn't work out quite the way I'd planned...

The truth is, finding reliable ways to make money from home is extemely difficult, especially for those of us who may not have any startup capital to invest in programs or courses that may turn out to be dead-ends anyway.  I mean, for every legitimate survey site out there that actually pays its participants, there are 25-100 envelope stuffing/ secret shopper/ MLM marketing(pyramid schemes) that are more than willing to charge you tidy sums for the worthless opportunities they are peddling.  It took me years of seraching, off and on mind you, to find a few valid opportunities to truly supplement my income from the comfort of my own home...

Taking online surveys has given me the opportunity to make some extra spending cash.  It's almost like giving myself a raise at my current job, 'cuz I get to take these surveys at my own pace, at times when it's convenient for me.  If there's a survey available and I feel like participating, I sign up and spend a little time providing my input for a variety of products and services.  There's really no obligation to be at a certain place at a certain time.  I work it at my own leisure.
